Payments on Base

Accept USDC payments on Base

Base is Settle's default network: an Ethereum rollup where stablecoin transfers typically cost a fraction of a cent and settle in seconds — wallet to wallet, never through us.

Accepts USDC, USDT, DAI, native ETH on Base. Settle never holds funds — payments settle straight to your wallet.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps.
No custody.

Everything runs on your wallet. Settle is the checkout, the verification, and the record-keeping — never the money.

01

Add your wallet

Add the Base address you want to receive payments on. Settle never asks for keys — only the address.

02

Share a checkout

Create a payment link, invoice, or product page at a dollar price. Customers see a hosted checkout with your branding.

03

Get verified payments

Transfers settle directly into your wallet. Settle verifies each one on-chain before marking it paid, then issues the receipt.

Why accept payments on Base

Base is an Ethereum rollup built by Coinbase, and it has become a busy hub for USDC in particular. If your customers hold stablecoins, many of them already hold USDC on Base — and for those who don't, moving USDC onto Base from another network or an exchange is routine.

For a merchant, the practical difference is cost and speed: a payment that would cost real money on the Ethereum mainnet costs a fraction of a cent on Base, and it settles in seconds. Since Settle's platform fee is 0% during launch, the network fee your customer pays is the entire cost of the payment.

Fees and costs, plainly

Base is an Ethereum Layer 2, so a USDC transfer typically costs a fraction of a cent — usually the cheapest of the EVM networks Settle supports, which is why it's the default. That network fee is paid by your customer when they send the payment, and it goes to the network — not to Settle.

Settle's platform fee is 0% during launch on every network, so the cost of a payment is the network fee and nothing else. If pricing ever changes, it will be announced in advance and published on the pricing page before it takes effect.

Wallets your customers will use

Any EVM wallet works: MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, Rabby, and others. Customers can connect a wallet in the browser or scan the checkout QR code from a mobile wallet app. No account creation is required to pay — a customer opens your checkout, approves the exact amount, and they're done.

You can collect an email for the receipt, make it optional, or allow fully anonymous checkouts — the choice is yours, per link or product.

How Settle verifies the payment

On Base, Settle reads the token contract's transfer record on the blockchain and checks that the exact amount, of the right token, arrived at your wallet. A transaction hash by itself settles nothing — the transfer itself has to be on-chain and match.

Once verified, the payment is marked complete, your customer receives a receipt by email, and your dashboard shows the full timeline — detection, verification, and settlement — alongside the transaction on the block explorer.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently
asked.

What can I accept on Base?

USDC, USDT, DAI, and native ETH — whatever your Base payout wallet is set to receive. Each checkout shows only the tokens you've enabled.

How much does a Base payment cost my customer?

The network fee only — typically a fraction of a cent for a stablecoin transfer. Settle's platform fee is 0% during launch.

Is Base the same as Ethereum?

It's a separate network built on Ethereum — an Ethereum rollup. A Base payment settles on Base and lands in your Base wallet. If you also accept payments on the Ethereum mainnet, you configure that as its own network.

Which wallets do my customers need?

Any EVM wallet — MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, and the rest — connect in the browser, or scan the QR code from a mobile wallet.

The checkout is ready. Your wallet is waiting. Say the price. Share the link. Set your own terms. Keep the whole payment. From first customer to a real business.
