01Who handles a refund
The merchant is the seller and is responsible for its products, services, cancellations, and refunds. Settle provides software that records a payment and may provide a dispute message thread, but does not decide whether a refund is owed and does not control either party's wallet.
02On-chain payments are final
Confirmed blockchain transfers cannot be reversed, recalled, or edited. When a merchant approves a refund, the merchant must send a separate transaction to an address supplied and verified by the customer. The customer and merchant are responsible for checking the network, token, amount, and destination before sending.
03How refunds are recorded
A merchant can record a refund against a payment in their dashboard. Recording a refund does not send money — the merchant sends it from their own wallet. Settle then checks the refund transaction on-chain (the token, the amount, and the destination) before showing the payment as refunded, and the receipt reflects it.
04Cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions paid through Settle are never charged automatically — each renewal is a payment the subscriber sends from their own wallet. Subscribers can cancel future renewals (now or at the end of the current period), undo a cancellation, or resume from the subscription management page, which emails a private link to the address they subscribed with. Cancelling stops future renewal requests; it does not refund a renewal that was already paid — that is up to the merchant.
05How to request a refund
Contact the merchant shown on your checkout or receipt and include the invoice identifier and transaction hash. Do not send a private key or seed phrase. If you cannot reach the merchant, contact support@settlep2p.com and we may help pass along the request, but we cannot compel or issue a refund.
06Settle service charges
Settle currently charges no platform fee during the launch period. Network fees paid to a blockchain network are not charged by Settle and are generally non-refundable. Any future paid Settle service will state its cancellation and refund terms before purchase.
